Leerdam is easy to reach by car, public transportation, boat and bike.
Leerdam is situated between the A2, A15 and A27 motorways, making it easy to reach by car.
Leerdam train station is on the Geldermalsen – Dordrecht line. Trains stop here every half hour. There is also an Arriva bus service between Utrecht Centraal Station and Leerdam.
In fine weather the countryside around Leerdam makes for a beautiful bike ride to Leerdam. Peddling past the Betuwe’s blossom and fruit trees and over dykes along the Linge River, you’ll enjoy splendid views and plenty of inviting spots en route to stop for a break or a tasty treat.
Leerdam is also easy to reach by water. The Linge is a wide river, great for recreation, and runs from Doornenburg to Gorinchem. Leerdam has its own marina where you can moor your boat for a day or more. For more information about the marina – Jachthaven De Oude Horn – click here.
